Zurich Insurance Acquires Connected Car Tech Company Bright Box

Zurich Insurance Group AG (ZURN.EB) has acquired Bright Box HK Ltd. and its subsidiaries to strengthen its capabilities in connected car technology, it said Friday.

With the acquisition of the Hong Kong-based company, Zurich Insurance aims to offer new services that use telematics-enabled data analytics, it said.

"By enhancing our capabilities in data insights and analysis, we will be able to provide our customers more tailored and convenient solutions, which is in line with our strategy," said Giovanni Giuliani, Zurich Insurance's chief strategy, innovation and business development officer.

The company did not disclose the financial details of the deal.
