ZURICH--Zurich Insurance Group AG (ZURN.VX) Wednesday said it
was beefing up its senior management team by appointing former
American International Group Inc. (AIG) Executive Robert Dickie as
its new chief operations and technology officer, effective from
March 2014.
In his new role, the 54-year-old Briton will be responsible for
Zurich's shared services, IT, procurement and sourcing as well as
operational transformation initiatives. He will be a member of
Zurich's group executive committee.
He will replace Markus Nordlin, who has been in charge of
Zurich's group operations on an ad interim basis since August 2013
and will now return to his full time role as Chief Information
Technology Officer.
Zurich Chief Executive Officer Martin Senn highlighted Mr.
Dickie's international and leadership experience as well as his
track record of transforming operations and technology across
global, national and regional platforms.
"Robert is very well positioned to bring Zurich's operations to
the next level in support of our strategy," Mr. Senn said.
