Deutsche Post AG (DPW.XE) said Monday that its electric-van
subsidiary StreetScooter GmbH is adding two managers from the
automotive industry to its management.
Peter Bardenfleth-Hansen will become chief growth officer of
subsidiary and will be responsible for the development of the
division's international sales organization, the German logistics
company said. He previously served as director for EMEA business
development at electric-car maker Tesla Inc., it said.
Ulrich Stuhec will serve as chief technology officer and will
also be responsible for the business's expansion in China, Deutsche
Post said. Previously, he worked on autonomous vehicles at car
maker Ford Motor Co, the logistics company said.
Mr. Stuhec will replace Fabian Schmitt, who will start in a
not-yet defined role.
The management additions, which focus on "growth and
internationalization," come at a time when the logistics and postal
company is speaking to investors about potential strategic
investments or a sale of StreetScooter, a company spokesman
said.
The company, which Deutsche Post bought in 2014, will make a
double-digit million euro loss this year, Chief Executive Frank
Appel told German newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung
in an interview over the weekend. The spokesman confirmed the CEO's
comments.
