Carrols Restaurant Group Inc. on Friday said it named Markus Hartmann vice president and general counsel, effective Feb. 18.

The Syracuse, N.Y., Burger King franchisee said Mr. Hartmann succeeds Bill Myers, who has been general counsel since 2012 and will serve in a transitionary role.

Carrols said Mr. Hartmann was most recently vice president for technical compliance at Daimler AG's Mercedes-Benz Research & Development North America Inc. unit.
