TSX: IMG NYSE: IAG
TORONTO, Oct. 30, 2014 /CNW/ - IAMGOLD Corporation
("the Company") reported that its Essakane mine in Burkina Faso continues to operate without
interruption despite civil unrest in the capital of Ouagadougou, located approximately 320
kilometres from the mine. While protesters have disrupted the
capital and two other towns, all IAMGOLD employees are safe and
accounted for, and our operations continue in Burkina Faso uninterrupted. The mine generates
its own power on site.
IAMGOLD continues to monitor the situation closely.
