ProfitCenter Software Inc. (PCS), a wholly owned subsidiary of
Systemax Inc. (NYSE: SYX), and a leading provider of web-based
multi-channel direct marketing software, announced today that
Publishers Clearing House LLC has entered into a hosting agreement
with PCS for the deployment of its web based Profitability Software
Suite(TM), an integrated multi-channel sales, order management,
fulfillment and accounting solution. The name "Publishers Clearing
House" is almost synonymous with the sweepstakes launched in 1967
to draw attention to the magazine deals in company mailings. Since
1974, consumer response has been bolstered by TV campaigns
featuring the Prize Patrol and in 1999 they launched their website
www.pch.com, which has thousands of product offerings. As they
continued to grow into new channels and markets, it became evident
that they would need new tools and solutions to sustain that
growth. Publishers Clearing House conducted an extensive search for
a solution and looked at over 16 companies before choosing PCS.
Having an extremely complex marketing process required a single
system that could be utilized by marketing, merchandising, sales,
customer service, fulfillment and accounting. Another system
requirement was flexibility to conduct business across multiple
sales and customer channels such as mail order, call center,
catalog and web. "With PCS, we now have one integrated solution to
use across our company, so there is no need to input the same data
in multiple places, multiple systems and reconcile it," stated
Steve Miller, Vice President and Chief Information Officer of
Publishers Clearing House LLC. "With the PCS Profitability Software
Suite's(TM) integrated solution, web management tools, and
reporting, our associates will spend more time on our direct
marketing efforts, improving customer service and operating more
efficiently than ever before." Publishers Clearing House
requirements for a new system included, but were not limited to: --
Order Processing through multiple channels; web, call center, mail
order. -- Screen orders for credit approval with access to all
customer data. -- Multiple part pay methods. -- Third party
collection access for collection agencies. -- Marketing management
of customer offers such as free shipping and loyalty programs. -- A
completely integrated system. "We looked at all the commercially
available systems on the market and kicked the tires on all of
them, but only one was found to be acceptable" stated Mr. Miller.
"The best fit analysis revealed one product that stood out amongst
the rest, that was PCS. PCS offered the best fit to meet our
current and future requirements." "For companies like Publishers
Clearing House that have large staffs and multiple systems, coupled
with complex marketing requirements, PCS offers significant
productivity enhancements and less headaches," said Matthew
Ehrlich, President and CEO of ProfitCenter Software. "We're pleased
that Publishers Clearing House has chosen PCS and our goal will be
to delight them with our world class functionality and service."
