State Street Recognized for Building an Inclusive Work Environment

State Street Corporation (NYSE: STT), one of the world's leading

been honored for its efforts to build an inclusive work
environment. State Street was recognized in the category “Program
or Initiative of the Year” at the 2012 Diversity and Leadership in
Financial Services Awards for the company’s Unconscious Bias and
WISE (Working Inclusively Supports Excellence ) training programs.
The award is designed to recognize an exemplary program or
initiative that was developed to better the lives and opportunities
of internal and/or external stakeholders.
The company’s Unconscious Bias and WISE training programs are
focused on educating employees on the importance of employee
engagement by providing insight on how to overcome challenges in
the workplace and how to change employee behaviors to generate
business results. These trainings are part of State Street’s
company-wide Global Inclusion initiative that aims to ensure that
its employees have the opportunity to do their best work in an
environment where they feel valued and engaged.
Mike Scannell, senior vice president and head of Global

In 2011, State Street hosted eighteen Unconscious Bias training
sessions with more than 600 employees around the world including
senior management. The WISE training program had participation from
more than 2000 employees across the company.
