State Street Global Advisors Announces New Leadership for Global Equities and Multi-Asset Class Solutions

State Street Global Advisors (SSgA), the investment management
business of State Street Corporation (NYSE: STT), today announced
the appointment of Alistair (Ali) Lowe as global equities chief
investment officer. Lowe assumes his new role from Arlene
Rockefeller, who is retiring from SSgA after almost 30 years with
the firm.
In his new position, Lowe will direct SSgA’s active and enhanced
equity teams globally in the development and management of
quantitative active and enhanced equity strategies. Lowe, who
previously served as the CIO for Multi Asset Class Solutions, will
report to global chief investment officer, Rick Lacaille. Dan
Farley has been named global head of investments for Multi Asset
Class Solutions replacing Lowe.

Ali brings a strong combination of investment experience,
leadership, and a track record of innovation to this role and I’m
extremely confident in his ability to lead global investment teams
and take our equities business to the next level,” said Lacaille.

tenure on the Multi Asset Class Solutions team will aid in a smooth
leadership transition.”
SSgA is one of the leading managers of quantitative equity

equity portfolios with a quantitative investment approach.

Lowe joined SSgA in 1996 and has also served as head of currency
and as head of the Investor Solutions group which specializes in

strategies. He has been instrumental in contributing to the design
and management of liability driven investments, portable alpha and
other overlay strategies.
Farley has extensive investment experience and has been with
SSgA for 18 years, most recently as head of the US Multi Asset
Class Solutions team. He has also served as a senior portfolio
manager and has assisted clients in the development of strategic
investment policy and managing tactical and strategic asset
allocation portfolios. Farley is a frequent speaker on the topics
of asset allocation, liability driven investments and investment
management for endowments and foundations.
