Boost Mobile and Virgin Mobile USA were recognized at the J.D.
Power and Associates Customer Service Roundtable in Orlando, Fla.,
today as 2012 Customer Service Champions – two of only 50 companies
to have earned this distinction this year.
To qualify for inclusion on this elite list, companies must
excel within their own industry and also must stand out among
leading brands in 20 major industries evaluated by J.D. Power.
Among the five factors measured – People, Presentation, Process,
Product and Price – Boost Mobile and Virgin Mobile both performed
notably well in the Price factor.
To identify the 2012 Customer Service Champions, J.D. Power
evaluated more than 800 brands. The 2012 Champions were identified
based on customer feedback, opinions and perceptions gathered from
J.D. Power’s syndicated research in 2011. This group of 50
represents the highest-performing U.S. companies/brands that
deliver service excellence – both within their respective industry
and across all industries measured.
“We are honored for our no-contract brands to receive this
distinction and be included in this elite group of U.S. companies,”
said Jeff Hallock, vice president-Marketing for Sprint. “We are
committed to customer satisfaction, and we appreciate these
external confirmations of our efforts, once again, for both Boost
Mobile and Virgin Mobile USA.”
This represents the fifth J.D. Power recognition for Sprint’s
prepaid brands since the launch of that business unit. Boost Mobile
ranked highest in four different J.D. Power studies – for
Non-Contract Wireless Purchase Experience Study (2012 Volume 1),
Customer Care Performance and Purchase Experience (2011 Volume 2)
among non-contract customers, and Non-Contract Customer
Satisfaction (2011).
Virgin Mobile was recently recognized by J.D. Power as highest
ranked in Overall Customer Satisfaction Performance in the 2012
Wireless Customer Care Non-Contract Study – Volume 1. Before
Sprint’s acquisition, Virgin Mobile also received the highest
ranking in Customer Satisfaction with Wireless Prepaid Services in
the 2006 and 2007 Wireless Prepaid CSI Study.
