Explanation of Responses:
(1)	Pursuant to an Amended and Restated Contribution and Support Agreement, Avalon Energy, LLC ("Avalon") transferred and assigned 13,125,000 Common Units of Beneficial Interest of SandRidge Permian Trust, a Delaware statutory trust (the "Issuer"), to Montare Resources I, LLC, a Texas limited liability company (the "Reporting Person") in exchange for, among other things, (i) a limited partnership interest in an affiliate of the Reporting Person, (ii) the assumption of certain liabilities of Avalon and its affiliates, and (iii) the Reporting Person's discharge of certain outstanding debt of Avalon and its affiliates.
(2)	The Reporting Person states that neither the filing of this statement nor anything herein shall be deemed an admission that the Reporting Person is, for purposes of Section 16 of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, as amended or otherwise, the beneficial owners of any securities covered by this statement. The Reporting Person disclaims beneficial ownership of the securities covered by this statement, except to the extent of the pecuniary interest of the Reporting Person in such securities.
