MELBOURNE, Fla., March 29 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Harris Corporation (NYSE:HRS) today announced that Robert K. "Bob" Henry, 58, has been named executive vice president of the company. Mr. Henry, who had been senior vice president of Harris and president of the company's Government Communications Systems Division, will have expanded responsibilities for several corporate- wide functions, including supply chain management and operations, information systems, government affairs, and security. He continues to serve as president of the Government Communications Systems Division and business leader for the company's two government-related businesses. "As leader of our two government businesses, Bob has demonstrated great skill in bringing organizations and technical resources together in order to create new and expanded market opportunities," said Howard L. Lance, chairman, president and chief executive officer. "In his expanded role, he will help to ensure that the company is getting the full benefit of synergies that exist across all of our divisions as we implement important new supply chain and information systems initiatives." Mr. Henry was named president of the Harris Government Communications Systems Division in 1999 and senior vice president of the company in 2003. Prior to joining Harris in 1997, he was vice president of engineering for Sanders, a Lockheed Martin company headquartered in Nashua, New Hampshire. He held positions of increasing responsibility during his career there, including vice president-general manager of the Information Systems Division. He has a broad technical, business and operations background with 34 years in the aerospace and defense industry, including 8 years with the Department of Defense (U.S. Army Communications Command) and Defense Communications Agency. Mr. Henry has a B.S.E.E. degree from the University of Pittsburgh and a master's degree in management from Frostburg University. He is an active member of numerous aerospace and defense associations and recently served as the chairman of the board for the Astronauts Memorial Foundation.
