The announcement was made during the Inter-service/Industry Training, Simulation and Education Conference (I/ITSEC '05) being held November 28 through December 1 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando (Harris booth #2129). "The 15-meter Global Dataset produces gorgeous imagery that will be a perfect addition to the visualization applications in Microsoft's Virtual Earth product," said Tom Barclay, senior researcher for the Microsoft Virtual Earth project. "We look forward to introducing this functionality into an upcoming release of Windows Live Local Powered by Virtual Earth." Features of imagery available through 15-meter Globe Dataset include advanced tonal balancing of realistic earth colors resulting in true-life visual scenarios. This creates an enhanced user experience for a broad range of critical applications, from location-based services to advanced simulation and aircrew training. 15-meter Globe Dataset products are available for immediate delivery in regional or full-earth formats.
