ABB Ltd. said Monday that it will provide its cloud-based technology to Chinese telecommunications company Guangdong OPPO Mobile Telecommunications Corp. to monitor, operate and maintain the power distribution system at a factory in China.

The Swiss engineering company said its Ability Electrical Distribution Control System technology will decrease management costs at the plant by up to 30%, and increase its power continuity by up to 20%. The technology will also reduce power outages at the plant, ABB said.

Guangdong OPPO Mobile Telecommunications Corp. expects to complete the plant by 2024, when it will be able to produce 100 million smart devices every year, ABB said.

ABB didn't disclose the financial terms of the contract.
