FAIRFAX, Va., Nov. 9 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- webMethods, Inc. (NASDAQ:WEBM) today announced that it will file a Form 12b-25 with the Securities and Exchange Commission ("SEC"), in order to extend the filing due date for its Quarterly Report on Form 10-Q for the quarter ended September 30, 2006. This filing will extend the November 9, 2006 due date for up to five calendar days under SEC rules. The Company expects to file its Form 10-Q within the five-day extension period. The preparation of the financial statements that will be included in the Form 10-Q was delayed because of the additional time needed to determine the purchase price allocation and related accounting treatment for the Company's acquisition of Infravio, Inc., which was completed on September 27, 2006, and its purchase of technology and other assets of Cerebra, Inc., which was completed on August 16, 2006.
