Synplicity�s free, non-proprietary IP encryption flow was recognized during an award ceremony held at the Santa Clara Convention Center, during DesignCon on January 30, 2007. This award marks the second time Synplicity has received a DesignVision Award and the third time Synplicity has been a DesignVision Award finalist. Started in 2005, the International Engineering Consortium�s (IEC) DesignVision Award recognizes companies for their innovative products, services and technologies that have added a new dimension to the electronic design industry. Entrants for this award were judged based on innovation, uniqueness, market impact, customer benefits and value to society. The methodology utilizes openly available, well-tested and government-approved encryption methods combined with an encryption embedding mechanism. In October 2006, Synplicity donated its open IP encryption methodology to the VSI Alliance (VSIA), providing the VSIA a license to use and modify Synplicity�s IP encryption specification for the purposes of creating an industry IP encryption standard.
