Constant Contact®, Inc. (NASDAQ: CTCT), the trusted marketing advisor to more than 400,000 small organizations worldwide, and the Chicago City Treasurer’s Office today announced the winning entries for the company’s Small Business Online Marketing Contest.

The Small Business Online Marketing Contest featured over $10,000 in cash and prizes awarded to businesses submitting winning entries in “Best Business Email Marketing” and “Best Overall Users of Social Media” categories, including “Rookie Awards” for those businesses that had utilized online marketing tools for less than one year. Entries were judged based on originality of concept, polish and appeal, clarity, and effectiveness.

“We were thrilled with the response to the Small Business Online Marketing Contest, particularly the representation of entries across all facets of the Chicago small business community,” said Chicago City Treasurer Stephanie D. Neely. “This level of interest and participation reinforces what we’ve witnessed in the marketplace: small businesses are harnessing the power of online marketing tools to innovate, create, and grow their businesses in more ways than ever before.”

“Each of the winning campaigns illustrates how small businesses can effectively utilize online marketing tools to engage with customers and the community wherever and whenever they want, and without spending a lot of time or money,” said Eric Groves senior vice president, strategy, corporate development, and innovation at Constant Contact. “Through the Chicago Small Business Online Marketing Contest and free educational seminars, we were able to share best practices that demonstrate how small businesses are successfully using online tools, in addition to highlighting local resources, expert coaching, and the knowhow available to make it easy.”

The contest judging panel featured a variety of Chicago business leaders, including Justyn Howard, Chief Executive Officer, Sprout Social, Inc.; Cassandra Gaddo, Managing Editor, Today’s Chicago Woman; Shelly Ng, Chief Executive Officer, American Mass Media; and Howard Tullman, President & CEO, Tribeca Flashpoint Media Arts Academy.

"The social graph and its arsenal of digital tools are igniting Chicago's small businesses as they create new markets and engage new customers,” said contest judge Dan Lyne, Director of Technology Development, World Business Chicago. “From the quality of submissions to the Chicago Small Business Online Marketing Contest, it’s clear that our entrepreneurial community can riff big-time in the virtual realm to generate real-world results.”
