CROCS(TM) Inc. Announces Acquisition of Fury
January 11 2007 - 4:01PM
PR Newswire (US)
BOULDER, Colo., Jan. 11 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Crocs, Inc.
(NASDAQ:CROX), today announced that its wholly owned subsidiary,
Fury, Inc., will launch its 2007 product line at the ONEGOAL Hockey
Show in Toronto, Ontario in the South Building, booth #438. The
show will take place at the Metro Toronto Convention Center from
January 14-16, 2007. Crocs acquired Fury, a leading manufacturer of
performance-driven hockey and lacrosse equipment in October of
2006, and is now operating the company as a wholly owned
subsidiary. Founded in 2002 by former NHL star Keith Primeau and
two partners, Fury delivers top-of-the-line equipment that has been
designed and tested by professional athletes to meet the highest
specifications in the industry. The first synergies of the Crocs
relationship will be visible in Fury's Aeroflex Series, which will
feature Croslite, Crocs' proprietary closed-cell material. Croslite
is a revolutionary anti-microbial material, which is incredibly
lightweight, prevents odor and provides a custom, comfortable fit.
Croslite's superior impact resistance has allowed Fury to engineer
products that require substantially less material thickness than
most products available on the market today. These new low profile
products allow for greater range of motion, leading to maximum
flexibility and performance. The combination of Fury's industry
leading designs with Crocs' innovative Croslite technology creates
a revolutionary breakthrough in sports protection. The Fury product
line now includes sticks, gloves, pants, shin pads, elbow pads and
transition wear. The company also offers an assortment of high
quality bags, apparel and accessories. "We are very pleased to have
Fury as part of the Crocs family and look forward to the launch of
its new line of products. Fury is a well-respected company and we
are excited by the synergies created by the integration of our
industry-leading Croslite material into their superior line of
sports equipment and apparel," said Ron Snyder, CEO of Crocs.
"Croslite is an extremely versatile material and we are continuing
to find new markets for this product, including the sporting
industry. We believe Croslite will bring a new level of quality,
protection, and support to athletic equipment and this technology
will allow athletes to achieve a new level of performance with our
products." About Fury, Inc. Fury, Inc. is a wholly-owned subsidiary
