ARRIS Receives Major CMTS Order from Japanese MSO J-COM Broadband
DULUTH, Ga., Feb. 26 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- ARRIS today
announced that Japan's largest MSO, Jupiter Telecommunications Co.
Ltd. (J-COM Broadband), has deployed a number of ARRIS Cadant(R) C4
Cable Modem Termination Systems (CMTS) in support of J-COM
Broadband's high-speed data service. These units offer increased
performance and reliability to its customers. "As one of the CMTS
vendors we deploy, we selected the ARRIS Cadant C4to support the
very high data rates we are offering, as well as for the ease of
their upgrade to high density DOCSIS 2.0 operations," said J-COM
Broadband's Senior VP of Engineering Shunzo Yamaguchi on announcing
the agreement. "Additionally, we are assured of quality in-country
technical and marketing support from the local ARRIS operations in
Tokyo." "We are extremely honored to have been chosen by J-COM
Broadband to meet their high-speed data needs," said ARRIS
President of Worldwide Sales Ron Coppock. "The technology required
to assure optimal operations, given the remarkably high data rates
envisioned, is a gratifying testimonial to the carrier-grade
attributes of the Cadant C4." This major purchase order for Cadant
C4 CMTS' to support J-COMBroadband's high-speed data service
offerings greatly expands the relationship between ARRIS and J-COM
Broadband. The Cadant C4 CMTS is easily upgradeable to the new high
