ARRIS Cadant(R) C3(TM) CMTS Receives Approval for Use in Cox Network SUWANEE, Ga., July 18 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- ARRIS (NASDAQ:ARRS) today announced that Cox Business Services has approved the ARRIS Cadant C3 Cable Modem Termination System (CMTS) for use in its network. Cox, the third largest U.S. multiple system cable operator (MSO), is using the C3 to deliver high-speed data and voice services to its business customers. Cox's approval of the C3 was based in large part upon four capabilities: -- The C3's footprint -- the C3's small size makes it easy to deploy in any headend or hub site. -- The C3's DOCSIS 2.0 features, allowing the use of 16QAM, 64QAM, ATDMA and SCDMA in difficult areas of the return spectrum. -- The C3's stability and near error-free performance, making it ideal for commercial services applications such as TDM over IP. DS1 service in particular requires low jitter, latency and low bit-error rate. -- The C3's 802.1Q VLAN tagging feature -- each C3 is capable of providing up to 64 VLANs. "Cox recognizes that commercial services present unique demands on the network, and we're pleased that the C3 has the robustness and routing features they require," said ARRIS Broadband Marketing VP, Stan Brovont. "ARRIS conducted extensive testing to ensure that service reliability meets the high expectations of business subscribers, and this was verified in Cox' own lab and field testing." About the ARRIS Cadant C3 CMTS The ARRIS Cadant C3 CMTS is a flexible, powerful and easy-to-use system for next generation advanced IP services. The C3 CMTS permits cable operators of any size to provide advanced tiered data, peer-to-peer, and voice telephony services over converged IP networks to both residential and business subscribers alike.
