offering 30 days of free self-storage to residents near
Laval and Boisbriand, north of Montreal, as well as Gatineau, north of Ottawa, where flooding has been significant
and is likely to worsen.
The overflowing Ottawa River, caused by several days of rain and
large amounts of melting ice from the harsh winter, have flooded
streets and homes. This has created an immediate need for secure
and dry self-storage lockers where people can bring their
possessions.
"Our communities are facing trouble with the rising waters, and
we want them to know U-Haul is able to help," said Claude Boucher, U-Haul Company of Western Quebec president. "We're making three
facilities available where people can store their belongings for
one month at no cost."
