Lowe's Cos. (LOW) wants to hire over 53,000 workers for spring,
the company said Thursday, boosting its employee base to handle
demand in warmer weather.
The associates will be anywhere from full-time workers to
part-time or seasonal employees, the company said. The seasonal
jobs include stockers, loaders, cashiers and workers for the
company's loan and garden sections.
Lowe's said its seasonal hires usually work through the summer
and that about half of these workers last year were made permanent
employees.
Lowe's Executive Vice President of Human Resources, Jennifer
Weber, in prepared remarks called spring "the busiest season for
home improvement projects" and said hiring events will help the
company meet demand.
The first of the hiring events for this season will be Jan. 8 in
select states, the company said.
