Airtel Africa PLC (AAF.LN) said Tuesday that it has entered into a digital-payment partnership with Mastercard Inc. (MA), which will give more than 100 million mobile-phone users access to Mastercard's network.

Under the deal, Airtel Money customers--even those without a bank account--will be able to make payments to local and global online merchants that accept Mastercard cards, the U.K.-based, Africa-focused telecommunications company said.
