BP PLC (BP.LN, BP) on Tuesday said it has established a $100
million fund for projects aimed at reducing greenhouse-gas
emissions in its upstream oil and gas operations.
The U.K. energy giant said the funds will be available over the
next three years to support new projects in its exploration and
production operations.
BP last year pledged to generate 3.5 million metric tons of
sustainable greenhouse-gas emissions reductions across its business
by 2025.
The company said the new $100 million fund is in addition to the
$500 million a year it invests annually in low-carbon activities
such as expanding its alternative energy business.
