LONDON, July 13, 2017 /PRNewswire/
-- Burson-Marsteller, a leading global strategic
communications and public relations firm, today announced
Stephen Day has been named CEO of
its UK operations, effective immediately.
Day joined Burson-Marsteller in April
2014 as Managing Director, UK Practice Chair, Public Affairs
and Political Communications, and took on the additional role of
Chief Operating Officer of the UK market in January 2016. Under Day's leadership, the firm's
public affairs team and revenues have seen significant growth and
the practice is now market leading in the UK. Day has been listed

Portcullis Public Affairs as Managing Director. In a career
spanning 16 years, he has also worked for FleishmanHillard and
Weber Shandwick. He started his career in 2000 working for the
Conservative Party's Front Bench Trade and Industry Team.
"I am very excited to have Stephen assume responsibility for our
UK operations," said Ramiro
Prudencio, CEO, Burson Marsteller EMEA. "As head of our
Public Affairs practice, and later COO, he has led our teams to
pursue innovative, creative and data-driven solutions to client
challenges. This experience will be essential to continuing the
transformation of our UK business as we seek to lead in integrated
communications spanning all practice and industry areas. Stephen's
background in public affairs and policy will continue to be of
particular value to clients as they face a period of change in both
the UK and Europe. I look forward
to working closely with him and having him join our regional
leadership team," Prudencio added.
"Stephen is an inspiring leader who is highly regarded by
clients and colleagues alike for his strategic thinking, foresight
and rigorous attention to excellence," said Kevin Bell, Worldwide President,
Burson-Marsteller. "I am confident our UK business, and our
clients' businesses, will grow and thrive under his leadership.
"Amanda Pierce recently left the
role of CEO to embrace her next big challenge," Bell continued.
"She has been a collaborative, innovative and results driven
leader, achieving a great deal in the last nine years. I have
always had admiration for her ability to get stuff done, and I
would like to thank her for the considerable contribution she has
made and wish her all the best for the future."
"It is a privilege to have the opportunity to build upon
Burson-Marsteller's extraordinary global heritage by leading our
team in the UK, one of the firm's most important markets," said
Day. "From day one, working closely with Ramiro and the team, I
will seek to look anew at our approach to communications to
innovate and grow both in terms of people and capability so that we
always live up to the needs and expectations of our clients and
