Fluor Corporation (NYSE: FLR) announced today that it was awarded a contract by GLOBALFOUNDRIES to provide onsite maintenance and operations support for its microprocessors and water fabrication units at GLOBALFOUNDRIES’ Burlington, Vermont and Fishkill, New York locations. Fluor will book the undisclosed contract value in the second quarter of 2017.

The project will be managed through Stork, part of Fluor’s diversified services segment.

“Fluor has worked at these two sites with a previous owner for more than 12 years and looks forward to continuing to provide maintenance and operations support service to GLOBALFOUNDRIES,” said Taco de Haan, president of Stork.

“Our ability to secure this contract with GLOBALFOUNDRIES validates our position that a focus on safety, client satisfaction and continuous improvement are the right drivers for our business,” said Dale Barnard, vice president of Stork North America.

Fluor will begin work later this month at both locations employing approximately 40 full-time workers at each site.

GLOBALFOUNDRIES is a leading global full-service semiconductor design, development, fabrication and innovation company.
