HilltopSecurities and Associates Raise More Than $49K for Carry The Load

Hilltop Securities Inc. (HTS) today announced that the firm and
its associates – as well as associates from sister company,
FirstSouthwest Asset Management – raised $49,100 for Carry The Load
(CTL), a nonprofit dedicated to restoring the true meaning of
Memorial Day and raising funds to provide a continuum of care for
military, law enforcement, firefighters and rescue personnel and
their families.
The firm’s national donation campaign coincided with the
nonprofits’ “Memorial May” series of relays and rallies taking
place down the East and West Coasts. In addition to joining the
relays in Los Angeles, Austin and Pflugerville, HTS associates
contributed to the campaign by making personal donations and
participating in internal fundraisers and raffles. Associates
continued to donate up until the nonprofits’ flagship event, the
Dallas Memorial March, on May 28 and 29. By the end of the event,
HTS ranked as the second-highest fundraising team.
“HilltopSecurities’ associates are among the most caring and
giving people I’ve had the pleasure of knowing,” said
HilltopSecurities Chief Administrative Officer John Muschalek, who
served as the firm’s CTL team captain. “With Carry The Load, the
firm and its associates were moved to help those who have
sacrificed their lives not only for our country, but our local
communities. We see this as a way to truly honor them the way they
deserve to be honored.”
Muschalek was also among the Dallas Memorial March’s top seven
fundraising participants and was recognized during the event’s
opening ceremony. Moreover, HilltopSecurities’ sister companies,
PlainsCapital Bank and PrimeLending, raised an additional $8,650,
bringing the firm and its affiliates’ total donations to
$57,750.
“Carry The Load is extremely appreciative to have had the
support of HilltopSecurities at our relays and rallies in Texas and
California, as well as at the 2017 Dallas Memorial March,” said
Carry The Load Co-Founder, President and CEO Stephen Holley. “Their
associates have consistently grown their participation every year,
and finished as one of the top fundraising teams in 2017. It’s
these funds – along with funds from all our participants and
fundraising teams – that allow Carry The Load to support our 25
nonprofit partners who are serving the military, veteran and first
responder communities.”
