Company Ranked Third in Category for
Innovation, Reflecting Kindred’s Network Development
Strategy
Kindred Healthcare, Inc. (“Kindred” or the “Company”) (NYSE:KND)
today announced that it was named one of the World’s Most Admired
Companies by Fortune magazine. This is the eighth time the Company
has made the list. Kindred ranked third for innovation among the
companies in the “Health Care: Medical Facilities” category.
The list of the World’s Most Admired Companies is the definitive
report card on corporate reputations. Fortune collaborated with its
partner Korn Ferry Hay Group on this survey of corporate
reputations. To determine the best-regarded companies in 51
industries, Korn Ferry Hay Group asked executives, directors, and
analysts to rate enterprises in their own industry on nine
criteria, from investment value and quality of management and
products to social responsibility and ability to attract talent. A
company’s score must rank in the top half of its industry survey to
be listed. More information and the list of the 2017 World’s Most
Admired Companies is available

“Being named to Fortune’s list of the Most Admired Companies is
a tribute to the hard work of our employees,” said Benjamin A.
Breier, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Company.
“Ranking third for innovation is a reflection of our strategic
vision to create post-acute care solutions and deliver effective
care coordination across the entire patient episode. At Kindred, we
are positioned to be a unique provider of coordinated post-acute
care and a post-acute benefits management company now and into the
future.”

networks through partnerships with health systems. The future will
be driven by collaborative efforts to deliver coordinated
post-acute care with other providers, enabled by technology and
data-driven care management capabilities. Kindred’s Contact Center,
staffed by clinical professionals 24 hours a day, is a critical
component of the Company’s approach to care management. This team
provides direct patient guidance and education through the

support and post-acute care benefits coordination on behalf of the
