HONG KONG--Swire Pacific Ltd. (0019.HK) said Monday that it has agreed to buy distribution and production assets in the U.S. Pacific Northwest for about US$170.1 million, in a bid to boost the firm's beverage business there.

The Hong Kong-listed conglomerate said it agreed to buy the assets, which are in or relate to the states of Washington, Oregon and Idaho, from Coca-Cola Refreshments USA Inc. and BCI Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Los Angeles.

The deal is expected to be completed in 2017, Swire Pacific said in the statement, adding that the consideration of the acquisition is subject to adjustment.
