A refinery worker at Marathon Petroleum Corp.'s plant in Texas
City is being treated for chemical exposure and lacerations, the
company said.
The employee was taken to an area hospital around 11 a.m. Friday
morning local time. Marathon said it is investigating the cause of
the incident.
The refinery, located along Galveston Bay, can process as much
as 459,000 barrels a day of oil. Marathon bought the plant three
years ago from BP PLC. In 2005, the plant was the site of a massive
explosion that killed 15 workers.
