SMITHS FALLS, ON, Feb. 25, 2016 /CNW/ - Tweed Inc. (Tweed), a
subsidiary of Canopy Growth Corporation (TSXV: CGC), will commence
sales of its line of strain specific 10:1 Cannabis Oils at
noon today. Coinciding with this milestone, the Company will launch
a new line of products to complement 10:1 Cannabis Oils,
officially available to registered Tweed customers as of today.
Balanced with organic, non-genetically modified sunflower oil,
Tweed's 10:1 line is versatile enough to be taken orally as it
comes in the jar using Tweed's precise dosing syringe.
However, customers have also indicated a strong desire to
bake their cannabis oils into food products like baked goods.
"We're fond of our heritage here in the old chocolate factory on
Hershey Drive," said Mark Zekulin,
Tweed's President. "Delicious baking kits are a great recognition
of that story and we think this product category is a natural
extension to 10:1 Cannabis Oils that will assist our
patients when medicating."
For $5 customers can purchase
a-gluten free muffin mix. A rich chocolate cupcake offering will
follow shortly, both specifically designed to be used with Tweed's
10:1 Cannabis Oils. Each kit comes with a dosing guideline
to help manage each individual customer's dosing needs.
The cupcake recipe is a long-held secret of Tweed's Head of
Medical Education and Outreach, Amanda
Daley. It has already proven to be a fan favorite at
Tweed's office as a (non-medicated) treat that makes rare
appearances on birthdays and other special events.
"Everyone secretly dreams that the cupcakes they bake for the
office will be so delicious that their business decides to sell
them commercially," Daley said.
"For me that dream is finally coming true."
