SINGAPORE--Social media platform Facebook and photo sharing app
Instagram were inaccessible for about 45 minutes Tuesday.
People who tried to access Facebook, which has some 1.35 billion
monthly active users globally, were greeted with a message that
said: "Account Temporarily Unavailable." The mobile app was also
affected, with users unable to load new posts.
The home page for Facebook-owned Instagram also wouldn't load,
and users who opened the app were unable to bring up recently
posted images.
A Facebook spokeswoman earlier told The Wall Street Journal that
the company was working to fix the problem. She couldn't
immediately be reached for comment about what caused the
outage.
