Pulse Sells Out First Shipment of Natural Cabana(R) Coconut Water
Solid Distribution Network Paves the Way for Strong Rollout
DENVER, CO--(Marketwired - Feb 20, 2014) - The Pulse Beverage
Corporation (OTCQB: PLSB), makers of the PULSE® brand of functional
beverages and Natural Cabana® Lemonades and Coconut Waters, today
announced that it is has sold out of its first shipment of 14,000
cases of Natural Cabana® Coconut Water prior to the official launch
of the drink. Due to high demand, Pulse has placed a larger
order with its Thailand manufacturer.
"The strong demand we are receiving validates our philosophy
that a great tasting product sourced from the highest quality
coconuts in the world, coupled with competitive pricing, will
significantly drive sales for our Natural Cabana® Coconut Water and
Pineapple Coconut Water in the year ahead," said Bob Yates, CEO of
Pulse, who noted that coconut water today is the fastest growing
product in the rehydration segment.
"The robust distribution network we built with Natural Cabana
Lemonade has paved the way for a solid launch platform for our
coconut water. Our California distributor is very excited
about demand for the product and is preparing a rollout into 1,000
retail points, including Albertsons, Walgreens, Shell Oil
convenience stores, Kmart stores and 7-Eleven franchises," Yates
added.
Pulse will officially launch its coconut water in early March at
Natural Products Expo West, a leading tradeshow venue for natural
and organic products. Pulse will provide samples of its
coconut and pineapple coconut water at the Anaheim, Calif.-based
event, which is poised to draw more than 60,000
attendees.
About Coconut Water
Coconut water was used in World War II and Vietnam as a
replacement for blood plasma. The electrolyte content of the water
is close enough to plasma to make it an acceptable medical practice
in emergency situations where plasma is in short supply. Even today
in some third world countries it is still a common practice to use
coconut water instead of plasma.
The nutritional content of coconut water includes electrolytes,
calcium, magnesium and potassium and is isotonic, so it replaces
body fluids lost to physical stress or injury. The Chicago
Blackhawks use coconut water in their training regimen. Even
Gatorade has realized the value of coconut water and uses it in
many of their drinks. Many professional athletes consume
sports drinks on a regular basis, and pure coconut water has 15
times more electrolytes than most of these drinks. Doctors
have cited coconut water as the best source of rehydration because
it does not contain citric acid and is very low in sugars, unlike
most sports drinks.
Following are additional uses and benefits of coconut water:
remedy for hangovers, reduces nausea, skin lotion and suntan oil
ingredient, nurtures healthy skin, raises metabolism to promote
weight loss, boosts the immune system, improves circulation, and
keeps the digestive tract clean, among others.
