Infrax Systems, Inc., (OTCBB: IFXY), a global provider of unified Smart Grid-related products and services for the Energy and Utility industries, stated today that their Secure Intelligent Energy Platform has been designed to prevent attacks on the global energy grid.

Cyber espionage has surged against governments and companies around the world in the past year, and cyber-attacks have become a staple of conflict among states. The recent news regarding the Stuxnet worm reinforces the need for enhancing the security of the power grid. Last week Ralph Langner, a well-respected expert on industrial systems security, published an analysis of the worm, which targets Siemens software systems, and suggested that it may have been used to sabotage Iran's Bushehr nuclear reactor.

The Infrax Secure Intelligent Energy Platform is an enhanced Cyber Security platform which has been designed to prevent unwarranted intrusion into any part of a network protected by the platform. Using advanced encryption algorithms and behavioral analysis, the platform is capable of providing suspicious or malicious event profiling and based on custom routines, can provide proactive threat protection.

Gen. Keith Alexander, the chief of the new U.S. Cyber Command, told a congressional panel this week: "What concerns me the most is destructive attacks that are coming, and we're concerned that those are the next things that we will see." The danger, Gen. Alexander said, is that such attacks can do damage that is difficult to reverse and can't be fixed by blocking Internet traffic, destroying computers and other automated devices connected to the Internet before the government or a company can respond.

"By collecting, correlating and analyzing real time events, our products are being designed to proactively respond to events on an enterprise wide basis," said John Verghese, Director of Product Development for Infrax Systems. "As cyber terrorists and the methods they employ become increasingly more sophisticated, it reinforces the fact that Infrax's focus on Grid Security is not only justified, but essential."

Cyber Security and the prevention of malicious attacks is a core component to Infrax's evolving Secure Intelligent Energy Platform, which includes secure wireless substation backhaul components, local communications devices and automation applications.
