Board Changes
Pacific Alliance China Land Limited ("PACL" or the "Company")
(AIM: PACL), the AIM-quoted closed-end investment company focused
on investing in a portfolio of existing properties, new
developments, distressed projects and real estate companies in
Greater China, announces today the appointment of Mr. Jon-Paul
Toppino as a director of the board of directors of the Company (the
"Board"). Mr. Christopher Gradel will step down as a director of
the Board. These Board changes are effective from 31 December
2011.
Mr. Toppino is the President and Chief Investment Officer of
Secured Capital Investment Management ("SCIM"), one of the leading
real estate investment management and asset management companies in
Japan. Mr Toppino is also Head of its Property Acquisition and
Asset Management Division. Since relocating to Japan in 1998, he
has been responsible for overseeing acquisitions and the asset
management of properties in Japan, China and Vietnam and has played
an instrumental role in the acquisition by SCIM of over 1.3
trillion yen (approximately US$16 billion) of properties and loans.
He holds a BS in Economics from Florida International University
and is a Member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI).
SCIM was founded in 1997 and currently has over US$9mm in assets
under management. Since 1997, SCIM has been instrumental in
bringing innovative skills and methodologies in the underwriting
and investment in real estate or real estate backed securities and
loans to the Japanese market. In 2010, SCIM merged with the PAG
Group.
