Feasibility Study Update
A Feasibility Study on the Project (Study) began in February 2022, with the engagement of Wood PLC as independent lead author. The Study has progressed well, with contributions from Global Resource Engineers, WSP USA Environment & Infrastructure Inc., and thyssenkrupp nucera, and with the support of Century Lithium’s personnel and consultants.
Major areas of the Study are completed and estimates for capital and operating cost estimates received, including those for the chlor-alkali plant portion of the Project. Wood is in the process of consolidating the estimates and reviewing them with Century, along with evaluating further optimization and opportunities for cost reductions. This optimization work will extend beyond the previously estimated mid-year completion date for the Study. The Company continues to focus on the Study and will provide updates in due course.
At the Pilot Plant, the collaboration of Century Lithium and Koch Technology Solutions (KTS) is underway testing the KTS Li-Pro™ process for DLE. Century Lithium personnel are working closely with KTS in the testing program, which has now completed its third 7-day cycle of operation. Thus far, the KTS process equipment has operated exceptionally well, using feed solution from the Pilot Plant, and the Company is very pleased with its performance.

Century Lithium is advancing the Clayton Valley lithium deposit towards a production decision
4 days ago Resource World
February 23,2023
By Ian Foreman
Century Lithium Corp. [LCE–TSXV; CYDVF-OTCQX] is a company on a mission – it is advancing its wholly owned Clayton Valley Lithium Project to a production decision as quickly as possible with the goal of becoming a domestic producer of lithium for the growing electric vehicle and battery storage market.
And this isn’t just wishful thinking… the 5,585 acre Clayton Valley Lithium Project, located in west-central Nevada, is host to a sizeable flat-lying deposit that is exposed at surface and continues to a depth of 467 feet. The probable mineral reserve totals 213 million tonnes with an average grade of 1,129 parts per million (‘ppm’) lithium using a cut-off grade of 900 ppm lithium and the indicated mineral resource totals 1,304 million tonnes with an average grade of 905 ppm lithium based on cut-off grade of 400 ppm lithium.
Their encouraging pre-feasibility study on the project indicated the potential for a 40-year mine life with an average mine production rate of 15,000 tonnes per day to produce 27,400 tonnes Lithium Carbonate Equivalent (“LCE”) annually. To further the potential economics the study showed a 25.8 % internal rate of return, and a capital cost payback of 4.4 years based on a lithium carbonate price of $9,500 per tonne.
Setting a frenetic pace
In order to reach a production decision as quickly as possible Century Lithium has set an aggressive schedule to advance their project. This includes continued testing of lithium-bearing claystone material at its lithium extraction facility while moving toward the completion of a feasibility study, which they anticipate having completed prior to Q3 2023.
With the anticipated favourable results of the feasibility study, the company plans to complete a Plan of Operations, begin the national environmental permitting process with the Bureau of Land Management, begin their environmental impact study, and begin state and local permitting processes – all prior to the end of 2023.
Should everything advance on schedule, they forecast that construction could begin as soon as the second half of 2025.
Refining the extraction process
The management of Century Lithium have tackled the challenges of being one of only three to advance a Nevada claystone lithium project to the feasibility stage head on. There wasn’t a roadmap as there is for the other commodities. As such they realized early on that they needed to get a handle on the recovery process(es) for lithium extraction. To that end they set up a lithium extraction facility, or pilot plant, which is located at del Sol Refining, approximately 125 miles south of their project. This pilot plant is providing essential data for the ongoing feasibility study and is now one of the largest, fully permitted and active lithium extraction facilities in North America. Since its start-up, the pilot plant has operated in 28 cycles of continuous 24/7 operation and has tested almost 10,000 samples of solutions, solids and precipitates.
In September of 2022 Century Lithium achieved a significant milestone when they successfully produced 99.94 % Li2CO3 (“lithium carbonate”), which not only surpasses the industry standard for battery grade lithium carbonate but achieves the standard for enhanced battery grade lithium carbonate for electric vehicle use.
Lithium battery manufactures will have specific requirements for lithium carbonate used in their products dependent on application. To that end, Century Lithium is producing marketing samples to support negotiations with potential offtake and strategic partners.
This month the company announced a continuation of its collaboration with Koch Technology Solutions, a Koch Engineered Solutions company, in the application of the Li-Pro™ process for direct lithium extraction. The Li-Pro™ process is made up a series of specialized separation processes for lithium extraction and refinement that produces a purified, concentrated lithium chloride product that is suitable for conversion to lithium carbonate or lithium hydroxide for use in battery production.
As part of the program, which is independent from the ongoing feasibility study, certain key components of the Li-Pro™ process will be tested at Century Lithium’s pilot plant. The information obtained from these new studies is anticipated to be included in the full-scale deployment of the Li-Pro™ process in the near future.
Feasibility Study and Environmental Considerations
The feasibility study on the project began in February 2022 and is advancing on schedule. The on-site infrastructure designs, including mine, processing plant, and tailings and waste storage facilities are completed. The cost estimation and market studies are underway as well as assessments for construction, component lead-time and off-site infrastructure. The updated resource and reserve estimates are scheduled to be the next completed tasks. These will then await the integration of the design, engineering and cost estimates for the chlor-alkali plant, which are also underway.
Mine planning relies on many complex factors with the environmental considerations of a future mine being of paramount importance. Water in Nevada is a limited resource and Century Lithium owns water rights in Clayton Valley that will provide a majority of the project’s future water requirements. A vast majority of the water will be used in the processing of the lithium bearing claystones. The Li-ProTM process that is being implemented in the pilot plant optimizes water usage and will minimize the amount of water required. In addition to this, the Pilot Plant has successfully operated using 100% recycled solutions.
The foresight of management doesn’t stop at working to source and limit its water use; in a move to anticipate the future requirements for power, the company is helping mitigate its future energy requirement by purchasing a geothermal lease in the Clayton Valley and is currently pursuing options for solar power generation near the project. Infrastructure surrounding the project is good as the property lies immediately east of Albemarle’s (ALB – NYSE) Silver Peak mine, North America’s only lithium brine operation.
So, all the pieces seem to be falling into place for Century Lithium – the deposit has robust economics, a feasibility study is nearing completion, and it seems that a production decision is on the horizon. The market reacted very positively to their recent name change, from Cypress Development, as it better reflects the company, it’s project and its vision.
Are the stars aligned for Century Lithium to become North America’s first producer of lithium from claystone? Well, if management has anything to do with it, their diligence will be paid off in spades.

NEW YEARS NEWSLETTER
Cypress enjoyed a very productive year in 2022, thanks to the hard work of our staff, consultants, and contractors. We will take a moment to recall some of the accomplishments of 2022 and through this, anticipate what the year ahead will bring.
A major focus of Cypress’ in 2022 was the operation of the Company’s Lithium Extraction Facility, aka our Pilot Plant, in Amargosa Valley which operated throughout the year. Completed in 2021, the Pilot Plant gathered data for our ongoing Feasibility Study and tested various operating conditions and
changes in equipment and flow sheet, all while performing safely. During the year, the Pilot Plant completed 24 distinct cycles of 24-hour-per-day continuous testing.
Financing is a key to success. A financing in early 2021 enabled Cypress to acquire critical water rights and complete the design, acquisition and assembly of the Pilot Plant. In early 2022 the Company expanded its cash position by adding C$18.1 million to the treasury. The addition was timely given the
trying year experienced by junior companies.
With a strong position, we were able to add to our land position in Clayton Valley through the acquisition of Enertopia’s adjacent project. We were also fully funded to continue work at the Pilot Plant and proceed with a Feasibility Study, ongoing since March, under the direction of international consulting firm Wood Plc.
Cypress completed its license purchase agreement with Chemionex for DLE technology, which is a key component of the Pilot Plant. Using chloride leaching along with DLE, our process team successfully produced concentrated lithium solutions from which Saltworks Technologies produced 99.94% pure
lithium carbonate. This milestone shows we can produce +99.5% “battery-grade” lithium carbonate using material from the Project and represents a major achievement by the team and our technology.
To complete a key part of the process, we engaged thyssenkrupp nucera for the Feasibility design of the Chlor-alkali plant. Their engagement was secured late in the year and based on their experience in both designing and constructing CA plants, bringing us a step closer to a future lithium operation and a Feasibility Study which we expect to complete in the first half of this year.
Throughout 2022, we introduced the Company to prospective investors in different markets and were encouraged by the level of interest for a U.S. lithium project at Cypress' stage. The team also reviewed business opportunities that could contribute to the growth of the company, including alternative energy
solutions, but with a firm focus on the Project through testing and feasibility related studies.
In the year ahead, we look forward to continued progress with completion of the Feasibility Study and advancing the Project through permitting. At the Pilot Plant we remain focused on data generation to validate the process and make improvements to test equipment and alternate processing conditions
that could have impact on the Project and potential future partners or clients.
We are grateful for the support and hard work of our team and shareholders, and we look forward to continuing our progress into 2023 and beyond.

Cypress Development Progress on Feasibility Study
June 15, 2022 – Vancouver, Canada – Cypress Development Corp. (TSXV: CYP) (OTCQX: CYDVF) (Frankfurt: C1Z1) (“Cypress” or “the Company”) is pleased to provide an update on the progress of the ongoing Feasibility Study for the Company’s Clayton Valley Lithium Project, in Nevada, USA. The Feasibility Study is under the direction of Wood PLC ("Wood") and Global Resource Engineering (“GRE”) and all related work is proceeding well, and it remains on track for completion in late 2022.
Activity Highlights:
Geotechnical study in progress
Continued operation of the Pilot Plant
500-ton bulk sample collected for further metallurgical material
Sonic drill program completed consisting of 580 meters in eight drill holes
Resource model updated with data from recently acquired property
Geotechnical Program
Wood personnel conducted on-site visits in supervising the collection of geotechnical data for the foundation design of the Company’s processing plant site and tailings storage facility. The samples collected for Wood’s geotechnical program were shipped to materials testing laboratories, and additional on-site work is planned in the next month.
GRE personnel conducted site visits in preparation to work on the Project’s resources and reserves. GRE personnel supervised the collection of a suite of large-diameter core samples for assay and geotechnical testing, which will provide further information for GRE’s work on the mine design.
Lithium Extraction Facility (“Pilot Plant”)
Testing continues at Cypress’ Pilot Plant in Amargosa Valley, 100 miles southeast of the Clayton Valley Lithium Project site. The Pilot Plant is now working in its 12th cycle of continuous 24-hr per day testing. The tests are ongoing to examine efficiencies in processing, testing various configurations in equipment and operating conditions, and the plant continues to produce concentrated lithium solutions for use in downstream product testing.
Wood’s process engineering team is working with Continental Metallurgical Services and the data from the Pilot Plant, to develop mass balance and equipment sizing. Wood’s engineers are also working on the overall project infrastructure, including selection and design of access roads, plant equipment, power, and water supplies.
Bulk Sample
To support continued testing, a 500-tonne sample of claystone was excavated in late April from an engineered test-pit and transported to the Company’s operations headquarters at the Tonopah airport, where it will be crushed, screened, and bagged in preparation for treatment at the Company’s Pilot Plant. The sample was collected near DCH-1, and in the vicinity of the planned starter-pit for mining in the Feasibility Study.
“We are pleased with the bulk sampling work. The size of the bulk sample may be larger than necessary for the Pilot Plant to provide adequate information for the Feasibility Study” said President and CEO Bill Willoughby. “This sample, however, allows us to examine lithium grade and other properties in the claystone over a larger volume. It also ensures we have material on hand, should we need it, for future tests or continued operations.”
Sonic Drill Program
Cypress is continuing to log and sample core from a sonic drill program which commenced and was completed in May. The purpose of the drill program was to obtain large-diameter (6-inch) continuous core. Eight locations were selected for metallurgical, geotechnical, lithological purposes. Each hole yielded 1.9 to 2.3 tonnes of claystone which will be used in metallurgical testing at the Company’s Pilot Plant to examine if there are any variations in performance due to depth, location, or material type in the deposit.
Four of the holes (CSV-1 through CVS-4) were completed in the central portion of the project in the vicinity of the proposed starter-pit and the 500-tonne bulk sample. Four other holes (CVS-5 through CVS-8) were completed in the northeast portion of the project on and near the parcel of property recently acquired from Enertopia Corporation (“Enertopia”). In addition to providing metallurgical sample material, these latter four holes will provide confirmation of the data from Enertopia’s previous drilling.
“The drilling program proceeded better than expected and was very successful in this first application of sonic drilling in Clayton Valley” stated Daniel Kalmbach, Cypress Manager, Geology and QP. “The quality of the large-diameter core samples are excellent and will provide further valuable data for the Feasibility Study.”
Resource Model
The recent addition of land acquired from Enertopia (see news release dated May 5, 2022) resulted in the addition of five core holes which were drilled by Enertopia in 2018. This property comprises 17 unpatented mining claims totaling 160 contiguous acres immediately adjacent to Cypress’s Project. A March 2020 NI 43-101 compliant technical report (published by Enertopia) on the property shows an Indicated resource of 82 million tonnes (mt) of 1,121 parts per million (ppm) Li and an Inferred resource of 18 mt of 1,131 ppm Li using a cutoff grade of 400 ppm Li. Cypress has not independently confirmed the resource indicated in the March 2020 NI 43-101 report.
All data received from the property acquisition has been incorporated into the project database and is expected to be used by GRE to generate the resource and reserve estimates and develop the mine plan for the Feasibility Study
