Ampere Computing Confidentially Files for IPO

Ampere Computing, the chip company founded by longtime Intel
Corp. executive Renée James, has filed confidentially for an
initial public offering.
Ampere's investors include Oracle Corp., where Ms. James is a
board member. Oracle has made multiple investments, including $300
million in 2021, according to a securities filing.
Ampere has received investments from the SoftBank Group
Corp.-owned Arm and Carlyle Group Inc.
Last week, Ampere said in a blog post that Microsoft Corp.
launched Azure Virtual Machines based on the Ampere Altra
processor.
In February, Ampere and Rigetti Computing Inc. announced a
partnership to create hybrid quantum-classical computers "designed
to unlock a new generation of machine learning applications over
the cloud."
