Corporate Travel Management (CTM), ASX: CTD, a leading
independent travel firm, is today announcing the appointment of
retired U.S. Navy Admiral Robert J. Natter, as an independent
Non-Executive Director. This prestigious board appointment is on
the back of CTM’s continued growth and aggressive strategy to
expand into global markets.
The multi-award-winning company was founded in Australia 19
years ago and has successfully demonstrated strong year-on-year
growth since its inception. In the year ending 30 June 2013, total
transaction value (TTV) increased by 29.7% from the previous year
to hit AU$884 million.
In July 2012, CTM acquired U.S.-based R&A Travel Inc. and
then TravelCorp in May 2013. TTV sales are expected to exceed
AU$300 million this fiscal year across five offices in Colorado,
Louisiana and Texas. Continuing this global expansion, in November
2013 CTM acquired a 75.1 percent stake in leading Asian travel
company Westminster Travel, with offices in Hong Kong, Singapore,
China, Macau and Taiwan.
Admiral Natter will be based in North America and has been
actively engaged with CTM as a consultant since September 2013. He
brings a wealth of knowledge and experience both in the corporate
and government sectors. Currently the Non-Executive Chairman of G4S
Government Solutions Inc. and a Non-Executive Director of BAE
Systems Inc., Admiral Natter is also the Non-Executive Chairman of
the U.S. Naval Academy Alumni Association and a Non-Executive
Director of the National U.S. Navy SEAL Museum.
Retiring from active military service a decade ago, Admiral
Natter has since served on a number of U.S. boards and advisory
panels in both the corporate and government fields. In his Navy
career, Admiral Natter served as the Commander in Chief of the U.S.
Atlantic Fleet and as the First Commander of U.S. Fleet Forces
Command, overseeing all Continental U.S. Navy bases, facilities and
training operations. In January 2014, Admiral Natter joined the
Washington, DC, based Potomac Institute for Policy Studies’ Board
of Regents.
Tony Bellas, Chairman of CTM commented: “With our continued
expansion into North America, we felt it imperative to have
US-based Board representation at a senior level; and you don’t get
more senior than a retired U.S. Navy four star Admiral, who also
brings impressive commercial credentials. Admiral Natter’s high
ethical standards as well as his passion and expertise are closely
aligned with CTM’s values, business operations and growth
aspirations and we are delighted he is joining us.”
