WebMD Practice Services Launches Intergy EHR Designed with intuitive workflow to help physicians work more efficiently and access medical information at point of care SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 4 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- WebMD Practice Services, a leading provider of administrative, financial and clinical software and services to the nation's medical practices, today announced the launch of Intergy EHR (Electronic Health Record) at the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA) annual conference. Intergy EHR is a suite of software modules that provides physicians with access to patient information, clinical systems, encounter documentation and outcomes reporting -- all from a single view. Designed with an intuitive navigation and modular approach, physicians can easily integrate Intergy EHR into their workflow so that they can practice more efficiently. "We have put into Intergy EHR the best of everything we've learned from clients using our existing clinical applications and from the past 20 years we've spent leading the practice management industry," said Tom Stampiglia, WebMD Practice Services President & Chief Operating Officer. "We've listened to feedback from our physician customers, and have designed Intergy EHR so it fits the way a physician works, thinks and moves to deliver patient care." Intergy EHR fully integrates with Intergy Practice, a comprehensive practice management system that enables physicians to simplify and improve a practice's administrative and financial processes. Together, Intergy Practice and Intergy EHR give physicians a seamless, intuitive system that can enhance practice operations, patient care, and patient satisfaction. Intergy EHR also provides an integrated, single vendor solution for The Medical Manager and PCN, and interoperates with practice management systems supplied by other companies. In addition, Intergy EHR offers: * A modular design that enables physicians to purchase and install the system incrementally or all at once, depending on their preference. Intergy EHR also is designed to enable different physicians in the same practice to use the system in different ways, to suit different work styles. For example, encounter notes can become part of the electronic record whether created by computer, dictation or handwritten notes. * PhysicianFlow(SM) technology that enables physicians to access information from a variety of sources - including the patient chart, imaging systems, practice management systems, and laboratory systems - all from one screen. Physicians also can easily move among tasks and multiple open patient charts. Placeholders in the system return users to the point they were last viewing in each open chart. * ImageDirector(SM) technology that combines bar-coding technology with imaging processes to simplify moving from paper to digital charts, and to make it easier to incorporate into the electronic chart paper that comes into the practice, such as lab reports, hospital discharges, referrals, and patient insurance cards. Because bar codes can be assigned to paper documents using any printer, the practice does not need to buy scanners for each workstation. Bar coded documents can be batch-scanned into patient charts as the staff has time, rather than having to interrupt workflow to scan documents as they are received. * Clinical encounter forms guide documentation and capture structured data to facilitate correct coding and outcomes reporting. Physicians can review and approve coding as they create the encounter note so that billed procedures are appropriately documented. The Intergy EHR provides a forms library for major medical specialties, including primary care, pediatrics, obstetrics/gynecology, cardiology, orthopedics and others. * KnowledgeLink technology to enable physicians to access information from Medscape, the leading source of online information and educational services for physicians, and other drug and medical reference information, while they are using the Encounter Note. This enables the physician to share education with the patient at the time of care, and documents the event in the encounter note. * A selection of various input devices for physicians, including desktop, laptop and tablet PCs, and handheld personal digital assistant (PDA) devices. Handheld systems can be used for offline charge capture, schedule review and dictation, and tablet PCs for full mobile functionality. Physicians also can assign tasks and access clinical information from Intergy EHR systems connected to the practice over the Internet or over a wireless network. * Remote System Monitoring automatically checks for the healthy operation of the Intergy EHR system. Real-time monitoring detects issues that have the potential to affect system performance, such as the need to increase data storage capacity and the need to perform a system back- up. Remote System Monitoring also tracks transaction flows to confirm that items such as electronic prescriptions and lab orders are transmitted and received. Any detected issues are reported to the practice by WebMD Practice Service's support personnel. Mr. Stampiglia continued: "As a leader, we have stayed ahead of market demands by creating leading technologies and offering innovative features. Intergy EHR will be able to communicate with Personal Health Records utilizing the emerging Continuity of Care Record (CCR) standards, enabling physician to physician referral of patient information and patient to physician sharing of health information."
