--Artisan Partners, an investor in Bayer, called for changes at the company, including "de-merging" its over-the-counter and pharmaceutical units, Reuters reported Friday.

--Artisan's David Samra said the units are "probably more valuable in the hands of somebody else," according to the report.

--Bayer declined to comment, according to the report.
