Portugal Telecom SGPS SA (PT) said Thursday fourth-quarter net profit dropped 83%, as revenue for the country's largest telecom firm by market value fell in both fixed-line and mobile domestic operations.

   MAIN FACTS: 

--Net profit fell to EUR54.5 million in the fourth-quarter from EUR312.1 million a year earlier. PT's earnings were adjusted to reflect the divestment of its stake in Brazilian mobile company Vivo Participacoes SA (VIV).

--Revenue dropped to EUR949.7 million from EUR961.3 billion in the same period a year earlier.

--Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization, or Ebitda, decreased to EUR362.5 million from EUR379.9 million.

--Net profit in 2010 as a whole was EUR5.67 billion, from EUR684.7 million a year before, including extraordinary gains for the Vivo sale.
