While retailers are scrambling to ensure great sales on the day after Thanksgiving, traditionally known as “Black Friday,” Systemax will be attempting to raise additional awareness and raise funds for Susan G. Komen for the Cure® and their goal to end breast cancer forever through the third annual Pink Friday® event.

Pink Friday (http://www.pinkfriday.org) will be highlighted with a day-long (12 hour) webcast from Noon – Midnight (EST) featuring breast cancer survivor interviews, informational videos and the sale of hundreds of products at 50 percent off, with 100 percent of the proceeds donated to Komen. The products go “live” at different times during the Webcast and are sold to the first people who call in.

“Pink Friday is one of the biggest shopping days of the year and this program allows a huge audience to become engaged with our cause,” said Katrina McGhee, vice president of global partnerships at Komen for the Cure.

Systemax has pledged to contribute a minimum of $100,000 in addition to all customer donations raised through the webcast, online and at participating retailers. Numerous manufacturers have made this event possible, including: Intel, AMD, Lenovo, Logitech, I-INC, Canon, CA, Toshiba, TRENDnet, Garmin, Targus, Ultra, Samsung and Sony.

This year 192,280 new cases of invasive breast cancer are expected to be diagnosed, according to the American Cancer Society. Susan G. Komen for the Cure, the global leader in funding breast cancer research, has invested nearly $1.5 billion in research and community health programs with nearly $465 million of it directly dedicated to research.
