NEWARK, N.J., Oct. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- The New Jersey Inventors
Hall of Fame (NJIHoF) will honor Ralph
Izzo, PSEG chairman, president and CEO, with its "Trustee
Award" in recognition of PSEG's energy efficient programs and
advocacy on behalf of a comprehensive approach to global climate
change. Izzo will receive the award at tonight's NJIHoF's awards
ceremony.
The Trustees Award is given annually to recognize individuals
who have promoted and stimulated inventive and innovative processes
to insure that future generations are prepared to meet the
challenges of tomorrow.
"The Board of Trustees of the New Jersey Inventors Hall of Fame
is proud to honor Ralph Izzo for his
creative leadership in the augmentation of PSEG's commitment and
significant efforts to improve the environment and the lives of
Garden State residents through technology," said Dr. Gertrude M. Clarke, president of NJIHoF. "He is
truly a role model!"
PSEG is dedicated to promoting innovative growth that is focused
on combating climate change and creating jobs through energy
efficiency efforts, the development of renewable resources and
developing clean central station energy.
"I take great pride to live in the only state in the nation that
has its own Inventors Hall of Fame - the flame of innovation
continues to burn brightly in New
Jersey and we need to keep it lit," said Izzo. "Green energy
is still in its early stages, but the expertise being developed in
our state could be the beginning of a future that resembles our
leadership in telecommunications and pharmaceuticals. The pursuit
of alternative forms of energy is important to our society's
economic future."
The New Jersey Inventors Hall of Fame, now in its third
decade, honors inventors, organizations, and others who have
contributed to innovation in the Invention State. The NJIHoF
promotes the role of invention in the state's development and the
role of inventors in improving society and changing lives.
