MILPITAS, Calif., March 8, 2011 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- LSI
Corporation (NYSE: LSI) today announced that the LSI® WarpDrive™
SLP-300 acceleration card, a PCI Express (PCIe®)-based solid-state
storage solution for application acceleration, is now available
with select Supermicro server solutions.
"We've experienced great growth in our relationship with LSI
over the past few years, and the ground-breaking LSI WarpDrive card
is a powerful addition to our broad portfolio of server and storage
solutions," said Charles Liang, CEO
and President of Supermicro. "The WarpDrive card will provide our
enterprise server customers with simple, effective and affordable
application acceleration while optimizing data center operational
efficiencies."
The award-winning LSI WarpDrive SLP-300 acceleration card offers
performance up to 240,000 sustained IOPS and 300GB of SLC
solid-state storage capacity within a small form factor. It is
designed to maximize transactional I/O performance of
data-intensive applications and workloads such as Web serving, data
warehousing, data mining, professional video and high-performance
computing.
The low-profile, half-length WarpDrive card plugs into the
standard 8 lane PCIe Gen 2.0 slot in Supermicro server solutions to
deliver high performance with low latency and a low CPU burden. The
WarpDrive card helps customers to accelerate application
performance, reduce energy costs and eliminate racks of storage by
delivering the I/O performance of hundreds of hard disk drives
while consuming less than 25 watts of power.
"The WarpDrive acceleration card represents the next evolution
in storage architectures for market segments requiring extreme
performance," said Bill Wuertz,
senior vice president and general manager, Storage Components
Division, LSI. "We believe the product has the potential to
transform the data center by helping customers eliminate
application bottlenecks, maximize utilization of physical space and
significantly reduce power consumption compared to traditional
solutions."
The WarpDrive acceleration card is the latest addition to the
comprehensive LSI portfolio of storage building block solutions,
including MegaRAID® and 3ware® RAID controllers, host bus adapters,
SAS switches, JBOD enclosures, the CTS2600 family of configurable
storage components and advanced software options.
The LSI WarpDrive card is available as an integrated option with
select Supermicro servers as well as through the LSI worldwide
network of distributors, system integrators, system builders and
VARs. Additional information about the LSI WarpDrive is available
