Harris Corporation Appoints Dana Mehnert as Vice President and General Manager of Business Development and Operations for RF Communications Division ROCHESTER, N.Y., Oct. 7 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Harris Corporation (NYSE:HRS), a leading supplier of secure, tactical radios for worldwide defense forces, has appointed Dana Mehnert to the position of vice president and general manager of business development and operations for its RF Communications Division. In this position, Mehnert is responsible for Department of Defense, Joint Tactical Radio System (JTRS), international, and federal agency business development, sales and programs, and customer service. He reports directly to Chet Massari, president, RF Communications Division. "This new organization structure is aligned with the division's strategic objectives to integrate all U.S. DoD business, to grow our U.S. market share, to leverage our customer service capabilities through integration with sales and programs, and to grow our international market share," said Massari. Mehnert began his career with Harris in 1985 as an engineer with RF Communications in a rotational development program. He moved into the International Sales organization after two years, representing Harris in Europe and Africa. Mehnert has held numerous positions of increasing responsibility in Marketing and Sales. He was named director, international sales in 1991; vice president, international sales in 1995; and vice president, marketing in 1996. Mehnert joined the Harris Regional Sales Organization (RSO) and relocated to the company's headquarters in Melbourne, Florida in 1999. He returned to Rochester with RF Communications in 2001 as vice president of international operations with responsibility for international business development, sales and program operations. In January 2004, Mehnert assumed the additional responsibility of U.S. government sales and operations. Mehnert has a master's of Business Administration from the University of Rochester and bachelor's degrees in Electrical Engineering and Political Science from Case Western Reserve University.
