Harris Corporation Awarded GSA Schedule 70 Contract for Microwave Communications Products Award Streamlines Ability of Federal Customers to Purchase Advanced Microwave Technology REDWOOD SHORES, Calif., June 29 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Harris Corporation (NYSE:HRS), a leading global provider of wireless equipment and services, today announced that it has been awarded a Schedule 70 contract by the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA), the procurement arm of the federal government. GSA Schedule 70 provides federal agencies with information technology (IT) and telecommunications hardware, software, and professional services. The contract period is five years, with three separate five-year options. "This GSA award provides a streamlined contract vehicle for federal customers to purchase our leading digital microwave radios, network management systems, and maintenance and training services," said Guy Campbell, president, Harris Microwave Communications Division (MCD). "It also allows MCD to continue its expansion into the federal marketplace and complements existing GSA contracts held by other divisions of Harris. Since there is no maximum order limitation under the multiple-award schedule, customers can use Schedule 70 to support large-scale, multi-million dollar development systems.
