Harris Corporation Wins Dwight D. Eisenhower Award for Excellence in Small Business Utilization MELBOURNE, Fla., May 21 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Harris Corporation was named the winner of the Dwight D. Eisenhower Award for Excellence today at the U.S. Small Business Administration's (SBA) National Entrepreneurial Conference and Expo in Orlando, Florida. Harris Government Communications Systems Division (GCSD) was judged to be the most outstanding of all Research & Development companies nominated from the SBA's portfolio of 2,500 large contractors. Named for the president under whose administration the SBA was founded, this award honors large-business federal prime contractors that have excelled in their utilization of small businesses as suppliers and subcontractors. The Dwight D. Eisenhower Award for Excellence was created in 1991 to honor a winner in each of five categories: Manufacturing, Service, Research and Development, Construction, and Utility.
