UMB Financial Corporation (Nasdaq:UMBF) delivered 2,321 pounds of food today to Harvesters -- Community Food Network. The total collection is equivalent to 1,785 meals that will be made available to feed hungry people in the Kansas City community. Last month, in recognition of National Hunger Awareness Day, 41 UMB banking centers in the Kansas City metropolitan area served as collection locations for Harvesters. For nearly a century UMB has utilized associate volunteerism and corporate philanthropy as means for community partnerships like this one. "We appreciate the support and commitment from UMB to help with the National Hunger Awareness Day food drive," said Harvesters Executive Director Karen Haren. "Harvesters would not be able to accomplish all that we do without the assistance of local companies like UMB Bank." "UMB is pleased to help make a difference in feeding the hungry children and families in our community," said Vanessa Vaughn, UMB Community Relations Specialist. "We are hopeful this contribution and other UMB community partnerships will advance the well-being of community members in need."
