Today, SBS Technologies(R) (NASDAQ:SBSE), a leading designer and manufacturer of modular communication solutions, announced an agreement to develop an AdvancedMC(TM) carrier card for IBM(R) eServer(R) BladeCenter(TM) systems capable of using up to four AdvancedMC modules to create application-specific blades from off-the-shelf SBS Telum(TM) modules. SBS Telum products range from world-class, telecommunications grade I/O and processor AdvancedMC modules, including the Telum 628-TEJ, Telum 1001-O12M/S, Telum 1004-O3M/S, Telum GE-QT, Telum FC2312-AMC-FF and Telum FC2312-AMC-CC, Telum 2001-VGA, to the previously released Telum ASLP10 processor module, Telum 1001-OC3, and Telum 1001-DE. "Today's announcement significantly enhances our commitment to providing our customers AdvancedMC carrier card technology that is unmatched in the industry," said Dave Greig, President and COO of SBS Technologies, Inc. "Our goal is to establish AdvancedMC as the mezzanine module of choice for business-critical data center and telecommunications applications. We are convinced that working with IBM to develop an AdvancedMC carrier card for IBM's BladeCenter products will go a long way toward helping us achieve that goal." SBS first introduced its AdvancedMC Telum product at SuperComm 2004 last year, and in one short year SBS AdvancedMC offerings have grown to a complete line of products that range from WAN I/O and a processor module to chassis solutions. SBS AdvancedMC products are based on SBS' many years of I/O and processor board experience. "IBM's open specifications, expertise and success deploying BladeCenter and BladeCenter T into the telecommunications industry is benefiting companies in the next generation network transformation," said Jim Pertzborn, Vice President, IBM eServer Telecommunications Solutions, Systems and Technology Group. "We are pleased to have industry leaders like SBS develop solutions for the rapidly-growing BladeCenter ecosystem." IBM BladeCenter products are designed to offer reliability and flexibility for growth and cost effectiveness. Clients with high performance applications that need highly available clustering can use IBM eServer(R) BladeCenter systems to help achieve high degrees of scalability and performance.
