the Fall 2006 Healthcare Compensation Survey. The survey covers a
broad spectrum of healthcare positions from Chief of Surgery to
Medical Records Clerk; it reports employee pay data for 130 key
jobs, including many positions not typically found in other
healthcare surveys. �This survey was conducted at the request of
our healthcare clients who were having trouble finding compensation
market data for certain positions,� said Joseph Kilmartin, director

More than 160 organizations provided information for almost 500
locations � representing over 209,000 employees at some of the
nation�s largest and most well-known health care institutions.
Nearly 80 percent of survey participants reported being
not-for-profit, with a majority of those organizations being
not-for-profit secular. Approximately 12 percent of participants
indicated they were for profit, while the remaining 10 percent were
government institutions. Participants represent a broad range of
organization types, from very large healthcare systems to
relatively small homecare agencies. The hospitals and healthcare
systems represented in the survey range in size from 70 to 22,260
employees, with an average size of 2,853 employees. More
