Yesterday, NASDAQ OMX Group Inc. (NDAQ) announced the introduction of a new data feed product, UltraFeed, which will provide comprehensive data from all North American equity, index, futures and options data feeds. UltraFeed is scheduled to launch in the second quarter of 2012.

UltraFeed will not only offer the convenience and efficiency of providing a wide variety of data from all North American markets at one place, but will also save cost of acquiring data from all data feeds individually. Moreover, it will provide reliability and speed in data acquisition as well as the ability to customize the data feed, thereby eliminating unnecessary data.

The first client to make a deal with NASDAQ for the use of UltraFeed is QUODD Financial Information Services. QUODD is a data provider, which has around 550 client firms. The firms will have access to UltraFeed and provide access to the same to their own clients, who will be the end-users.

QUODD currently provides one NASDAQ product, NASDAQ Basic, to its clients. However, along with UltraFeed, QUODD will also start offering NASDAQ TotalView to its customers in 2012.

NASDAQ is the world’s largest exchange company and competes with NYSE Euronext Inc. (NYX) and CME Group Inc. (CME).The company is expected to declare its third quarter 2011 earnings before the market opens on October 26, 2011.

The Zacks Consensus Estimate for NASDAQ’s third-quarter earnings is currently at 66 cents per share, up about 32% year-over-year. Of the 14 firms covering the stock, 9 firms revised their estimates upward, while no downward revisions were witnessed in the last 30 days.

For 2011, earnings are expected to be about $2.51 per share, climbing about 27% year-over-year.

NASDAQ currently carries a Zacks #2 Rank, implying a short-term Buy rating.

On Monday, the shares of the company closed at $25.12, up 4.19%, on the New York Stock Exchange.
